Information On Legal Music Downloads
I can still recall back in the day when the whole Napster thing began. I am not going to lie to you; this was sort of the bomb. Suddenly anyone and everyone with a computer and Internet access could get their hands on free tunes.
No questions asked. It was all about the shareware. Of course this eventually came to an end after a major court hearing and a lot of ruckus from musicians. I knew it was too good to be true. However, the concept of legal music downloads was soon in order. Suddenly we could purchase songs online from any artist or band.
It was great and virtually everyone still takes advantage of it. The big pitch was that you could buy a mere song, as opposed to purchasing the entire album. Because let's face it, we don't always like the entire album. It was basically a new-age win-win situation. Let's all give a big applause to legal music downloads.
Probably the most amusing aspect of the shareware dilemma with Napster was the public's mentality on the issue. Okay, so Napster did not provide legal music downloads, but most folks plain and simply didn't care. In fact, when all the musicians came forward and said "Hey, we worked hard on that music, so you should pay for it" most people laughed.
Sound Editing Software
Sound editing software used to be something that was used strictly by sound engineers in recording and televisions studios. Movie studios also used this type of software, and for the most part, it was very expensive.
Things are changing now, and a lot of home computers and laptops come with some type of sound editing equipment for personal use. This type is usually easy to use, and can be found cheaply elsewhere as well. It is becoming more and more common, and easier to use as time goes on.
If your computer comes with sound editing software, your biggest challenge is learning how to use it. I have a background in live and studio sound, yet I still have a bit of trouble getting it to work right. I have an older copy, however, and I have seen newer versions that are much more user friendly.
It may take you some time to learn in the ins and outs of the software, but once you get the hang of it, you can enjoy hours of fun mixing and matching your favorite sound clips, or adding music and sound effects to your home or personal movies.
This is a great idea for small local bands as well. It is not always practical to pay for recording studio time, and the initial purchase of sound editing software can save you money down the road. As long as you know what you are doing, you can get a quality mix through your home computer using sound editing software right in your own home.
Blocking Software For Your Computer
Like most households in the United States we have a home computer. Unlike most households our computer is a recent addition to the family. I am still amazed at the wealth of information that is available with only a few clicks of the keyboard.
As with all good and wonderful things there are also the objectionable and distasteful sides to unlimited information. I believe in free speech and advocate for individual rights, however I do not want my children exposed to things that I find offensive, especially within our home. I found that by using blocking software I can monitor what my children are exposed to without needing to sit next to them at our computer.
I want them to feel free to do their homework and communicate with friends and play games when I am in another room or away from home, but I also know that children are naturally curious and may get involved in web sites that can be unhealthy for them.Blocking software allows for controls of what sites are accessible. This can include instant messaging, email, chat rooms and websites. The blocking software can be adjusted to fit the needs of the user.
Internet Radio Stations
As an online marketer, I'm always looking for new ways to get my message out to potential customers. I've had pretty good success with banner ads and AdWords, and wasn't about to give up on those tools at all.
However, I felt that I could generate even more revenues by expanding into other marketing channels. After some careful consideration, I decided to advertise on internet radio stations.Internet radio stations are becoming more and more popular these days. That's because users don't have to have any special equipment in order to receive the streaming audio on their computers. In addition, there are so many internet radio stations out there now that it's easy for users to find one that plays only the kind of music they like. And best of all, internet radio stations offset most of their costs through advertising, which means they can offer their services to all listeners for free.
Marketing on internet radio stations would be a lot trickier than using banner ads or AdWords. For those other two methods, I didn't have to do much in the way of identifying my target demographic. It was easy to put banner ads up on websites that pertained to my products, and all I had to do for AdWords was sit back and wait for potential customers to come to me.
Do You Own A 17 Inch Notebook?
I recently got a 17 inch notebook, and am quite impressed with its quality. It is so much better than the old IBM Thinkpad that I had years ago. Back then, laptop computers were big and bulky, the screen resolution was poor, they were even more expensive than now, and the batteries had very low life expectancy.
But my new Dell 17 inch notebook is everything that my old laptop was not. It is sleek, low-profile, with hours of battery life, and a high-resolution lcd screen that is just simply a joy to look at.
I put off getting my new 17 inch notebook for quite a long time. I have always found the process of buying a new computer agonizing. No matter how long you wait, the very next week after you buy whatever system you have chosen to purchase, there is something cheaper and more powerful at a lower price and with a better warranty.
Information About PC Notebooks
A couple years back I began browsing for the finest PC notebooks. I wasn't the most computer savvy guy at the time; therefore I asked my computer-whiz of a brother for assistance. He's a big IBM nut and totes around one of there PC notebooks where ever he goes. I have to admit that I loved the size of some IBM models. They make some rather compact and lightweight PC notebooks to suit anyone's needs. Have you taken a gander at their half inch thick notebook computer? That's amazing! Who doesn't want high quality PC notebooks that fit in a bag like a simple notepad? Just like with our cell phones, PC notebooks continue to shrink. But they always advance to new levels. After a quick browse through Best Buy, I found it extremely difficult to choose only one of the PC notebooks.
About Apple Mac Laptops
I have been using a laptop since the year 1999. The initial laptops I had the opportunity to use were bulky, slow and extremely cumbersome to use and operate. But over the years, as the laptop technology got better and better, the laptops too have gotten better.
Now most laptops I had been using were based on the IBM computer, using the windows operating system. But it was in 2003 that I first set my eyes on an Apple Mac laptop.
Now the Apple Mac laptop has been a very strong contender for the top spot in the United States. It is not that popular in other parts of the world, which is where most of my active business is held, but in the United States, the Apple Mac laptop is the undisputed leader. The laptop, which was manufactured and continues to be manufactured by Apple, as always been a favorite of those who were seeking a better and more efficient alternative to the traditional IBM computers and laptops.
Apple G4 Laptop Review
This laptop is slick and compact with all the features you need. You can get the Apple G4 has a built in CD/DVD reader and CD writer. You can also add on a DVD writer. The Apple G4 laptop comes with a track pad that works very well even for a person like me with fat, clumsy fingers. But I have to tell you the truth. I like a mouse, which by the way, Apple invented. So, I plugged in a mouse to one of the two USB ports and now it performs exactly like my old desktop. The Apple G4 laptop keyboard has the feel of a desktop with all the function keys. Except the number keypad is integrated with the alphabet keys so you have to press a function key to get them to work as number input. This is annoying but it is the same as all laptops.
One other thing that is truly great about the Apple G4 laptop is the built-in speakers and microphone. You do not need to by a headset with the unit. I did add plug-in speakers for better music quality but it is not necessary and remember this. With the built-in microphone, you are instantly ready for web voice chat.
Need A Desktop Copier?
One piece of technology which has yet to outlive its usefulness is the desktop copier. Although it has been around (first as the mimeograph machine) for decades, the desktop copier still has not been replaced by more sophisticated gadget such as the scanner and printer combination, simply because it provides such a simple, and relatively cheap way to make duplicates of any kind of document.
But, unlike more high-tech components, desktop copiers are not in the habit of continuously descending in price, so care is required in choosing the one which is right for your needs. Fortunately, as most desktop copiers are really only needed to make rather simple, black and white copies of documents, an affordable one is rather easy for you to find if you need it.
I have a friend who runs an infoshop stocked with used desktop copiers, as well as many other high and low tech gadgets for people to use in making and distributing zines and political information. Until I talked to her about it, I did not realize how easy it could be to find desktop copiers for little or nothing.
Apparently, most of the desktop copiers that they posses in that shop were found by people on the side of the road or in old apartments, completely abandoned. They were then donated to the infoshop where they would be accessible by the whole community at once for making there own projects.
Are You Using The Yahoo Search Engine?
Personally, I do not like the Yahoo search engine as much as I like Google There are real reasons for this. The fact is that Google is much better at sorting out spam and other junk and giving you quality hits than the Yahoo search engine is, and that's a fact. If you do not want to have to slog through a bunch of spam, you are probably just better staying away from the Yahoo search engine all together. No one wants to waste their time with that junk. That is why Google is doing so much better than Yahoo.
Basic Computer Training
How often do you use a computer on a daily basis? When you check your email, when you go to the grocery store, checking the bank account, or possible purchasing a gift online; these are common occasions when we use computers. I have found it very useful in my everyday life to fully understand Microsoft Office. These are some of the most common software programs used in our society today. This is certainly considered basic computer training. I find it useful to understand computers as best I can. Since I write on a Mac G4Ibook regularly, I prefer to fully comprehend its functions so I don't have to always call for help if something goes aloof.
Anti Spam Software
Spam is a term that most of us are familiar with these days. You will hear it on the television or see banners posted on your laptop. It seems unavoidable. We are all too familiar of what it's like to be checking our emails, and become overwhelmed with useless adds, which force things on us that we typically don't care about. Luckily we can avoid this little annoyance with anti spam software. This software allows you to weed out the junk email and keep what's important. These days we are flooded with the ramblings of some wannabe doctor, who's flashing a cheesy grin and encouraging us to buy some kind of sexual enhancement drug. Another big one is the classic weight loss add. How many times a day are you told about that great new fat reducing pill?
Anti spam software is available on a variety of Internet stores. This time-saving email cleaner will do wonders for your inbox. A clear advantage to this software is it's ability to keep out the viruses that seem to be floating around cyberspace a little more and more as time goes on. There is always some horrible new virus out there, just waiting to destroy your computer's hard drive. Anti spam software will ensure you that those unwanted emails never make it to your inbox.

Computer Flat Screens
The first and most obvious difference I’ve noticed is the superior picture quality in my new LCD computer flat screen. It really puts my old CRT piece of junk to shame. My new computer flat screen is sharper, clearer, and has a much better refresh rate. I used to get a lot of eyestrain and subsequent headaches for staring at my old CRT computer screen a while, but I’ve yet to feel any of that with my computer flat screen.
Another great part of having a computer flat screen is of course the smaller size. Computer flat screens are incredibly space efficient. I had to devote pretty much the entire surface of my desk to my old CRT screen, but with my LCD monitor I suddenly have lots of room to do other things with.
When computer flat screens first started coming out a several years ago they were of course very expensive. Also, they had a lot of worrisome technical issues like dead pixels and such. Today, however, the technology has been improved upon a lot, and it has come down in price a ton. Getting a good name brand computer flat screen is only marginally more expensive than an equivalently sized CRT monitor.
There really isn’t any reason not to get a computer flat screen if you are putting together a new computer. The amount of money you save by choosing a CRT monitor won’t be very much anymore, and you’ll have a bulky piece of hazardous waste to contend with as a result. I strongly suspect that CRT monitors (and CRT televisions for that matter) are going to slowly phase out of the market and it won’t be long before they virtually disappear.
Next time you find yourself in a CompUSA, Fry’s Electronics, Costco, or some other store that sells monitors, check out there selection of computer flat screens.

Comparing Wireless Notebooks
Computers have come along way since the era of DOS and the old floppy disks. Looking back, that old Apple computer I typed a paper on back in the 7th grade seems so primitive. A black screen with green characters and no Internet. Many of us now deal with wireless notebooks. I hardly think we anticipated the future of computers back then, but I'm sure glad they came so far.
Through the 90s, we all took advantage of cable Internet. It was a true revolution in the online industry. No more waiting on dial-up and tying up the phone line. Oh, and that god-awful sound we presently make fun of when we glance back at the old-school method. Today, we have taken another step with wireless. After the millennium hit, wireless Internet became all the rage. In fact, most of us even did away with the desktops and took advantage of the wireless notebooks.
A great attraction to these new age computers is the convenience. It's become another on of our little fast-food routines. We simply grab our 3 pound computer and head to a coffee shop. This way we can relax with a cup of java while chatting to friends, or possibly get some homework done in a more peaceful environment. Whatever your computer need, you can get it done on a wireless notebook. The great thing is that they're not lacking.

Laptop Notebook Computers
I remember back when I had my first PC. It was a Compaq desktop with an enormous monitor. Sure it got the task at-hand accomplished, it provided my first dose of cyberspace, and even helped me write a few papers, but man am I glad it's gone.
These days many of us have done away with the two ton monitors and giant towers. We simply want smaller. Haven't you seen the commercials with the guy in the diner with his tiny computer? It's like less than an inch thick. Now that's small. In our busy, cluttered world, small electronics often equal convenience. That's why now days most of us prefer laptop notebook computers over the large dinosaurs. With laptop notebook computers we have that wonderful ability to take our PC or Mac where ever we go.
When I first saw an advertisement for laptop notebook computers, I was in awe. I wanted one for sure, but how much do they cost? Well, as we can see these days, there are a spectrum of options and a wide range of prices. Whether you're in search of that perfect PC, or Mac, you have much to sort through. What do you want your laptop notebook computer to do?
This is the first thing my brother asked me when I went to him for advice. As a computer geek, he said that this is probably the biggest concern. Of course you want to choose from laptop notebook computers that are quality and reasonably priced, but it comes down to your goals. Mac offers laptop notebook computers that provide wonderful digital editing capabilities, while many video game junkies live for PCs because of their game options. In all honesty, I believe that both arrays of laptop notebook computers virtually accomplish the same goals.

Touchscreen Monitors
I first became enamored with the touchscreen monitor when I watched SLIVER, with Sharon Stone and that unbelievably gorgeous Billy Baldwin. Baldwin’s character, Zeke Hawkins, is filthy rich. He owns and lives in the secreted away section of a towering apartment complex. And with nothing but time on his hands and loads of cash in his bank accounts, he creates a “position” for himself…other than that of landlord: he sets up super high-tech video equipment—spy cams in every room in every apartment, stacks of TV monitors in his suite, and an impressive three- or four-foot touchscreen monitor that he can point and touch to zoom in on any event or circumstance. He witnesses the atrocities of incest and adultery, peeps in on bathers and fornicators, and spies on everything from phone calls to family arguments.
The movie is not super engrossing or high art or anything, but every time it comes on television I have to watch it to get a covetous few glimpses of that touchscreen monitor. Then I go online and find all kinds of touchscreen information—on the three types (resistive, capacitive, and surface acoustic wave), on the usability (one produces the best clarity, another is vulnerable to puncture damage, etc.), on sizes (from 30 inches to several feet!), and on pricing…for businesses.
